I have forgotten the parent PIN

The PIN is stored as a hash, so nobody at Haven can read it back to you — including us. It can be replaced from a signed-in dashboard.

What is probably going on

Most likely

You need to set a new one rather than recover the old one. Haven stores sha256(salt:pin) and never the PIN itself, which is the same discipline as the join code and the session cookie.

Check this firstYou can sign in to your account with your email address.
  1. Sign in at /account — a link is emailed to you, no password involved.
  2. Open household settings and set a new PIN.
  3. Sync each device, or wait for the next sync, before the new PIN works at a block screen.
Cause 2

The household has no email address on it, because it was created before accounts existed. Then the join code is the only proof you have.

Check this firstSigning in with your address says there is nothing to sign in to.
  1. Find the join code — it starts with hh_ and is in the extension options on any device that is already set up.
  2. Go to /account and claim the household with it, which attaches your address permanently.
  3. Then set a new PIN.

What Haven cannot fix here

Stated plainly, because a product that hides its edges is how you end up trusting a surface nobody is covering.

No PIN, no email on the household, and no device with the join code on it.There is genuinely no way back in, and that is a consequence of not holding anything that could be used to impersonate you. Create a new household and put an email address on it this time; the devices are quick to re-point.

Still stuck?

Two doors, and neither of them is a queue you never hear back from.

Last checked 2026-08. Nothing on this page was written by a model — a made-up menu path is worse than no instruction at all, and this is the page somebody reads when they are already stuck.
