Alabama App Store Accountability Act (HB 161)

Signed February 2026; takes effect January 2027

Alabama became the fourth state to require app stores to verify user ages, tie minors' accounts to a parent, and get verifiable parental consent before kids download apps or make purchases. It passed the Alabama House 103-0.
