Your home router parental controls

Worth fifteen minutes as a backstop, and never worth relying on. Modern browsers route around it without anyone trying.

Before you start: Router admin access, which some internet providers lock.

Do this

  1. Open your router’s app or admin page
  2. Find parental controls or a DNS or content-filtering profile
  3. Apply it to the whole network, and set device schedules if offered
  4. Then set up device-level protection anyway, because this layer alone will not hold
